Description: The Outreach Toolkit is an online resource created to help you promote the work you are doing to serve delicious, fresh meals. This session will walk you through the Toolkit. We will discuss marketing and a variety of no-cost/low-cost resources that you can use to promote your school nutrition program, improve community perception, and increase meal participation.

In July 2007, Linda began working as the Coordinator for Cal-Pro-Net, a state funded grant through San José State University that provides professional development training and courses for school food service personnel throughout the state. Presently she coordinates courses such as financial management, new director training and the annual online mandatory training.
A Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, she is active in the California Dietetic Association. She serves as Professional Development Chair for CSNA.

Heather Reed - CA Dept of Education, NSD
Speaker Bio:
Heather Reed is a Nutrition Education Consultant with the California Department of Education (CDE). She worked on the planning team for the School Meal Outreach Kit. She also oversees projects related to school wellness policy and nutrition education, including the Nutrition Education Resource Guide, school wellness implementation, and the SHAPE workshops. She was the CDE lead on the planning committee for the 2007 and 2009 School Wellness Conferences. She is the co-chair for the California Local School Wellness Policy Collaborative and also serves on the California Action for Healthy Kids executive committee. A Registered Dietitian, she earned a MA from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor of Science from University of Delaware.
