Speaker(s): Josh Diekman - Corporate Executive Chef, Land O'Lakes

Objectives: The Land O'Lakes culinary center training is an exciting experience to engage participants to learn about flavors and to get a full appreciation on how we taste and eat food. Participants will nurture their knowledge of flavors/aromas and gain understanding of how to use this in practical applications beneficial to their program. The course goal is to send participants away with new innovative ideas, taking regional and national trends into consideration.

Description: This program will explore the human nature of taste & texture. Why does salt make things taste better? Why do people like certain foods while others don't? How do aromas affect your taste? What is umami anyway? Through sensory experiments, we will explore these questions and more.
