Objectives: Participants shall improve their understanding of how to meet or exceed expectations during the SY 20-21 Administrative Review - with the remote review process and USDA waiver flexibilities. Participants will learn organizational tips and tricks for managing required documentation, and following a timeline for review success. Participants will evaluate their department for preparedness and identify gaps that need to be completed prior to their next review.
Description: This session will share a variety of helpful hints, tips, and tools for a successful Administrative Review. Melissa and Jennifer have a combined experience of well over 100 Administrative Reviews through their work as consultants in California schools, including recent experience with the new remote AR. This session had standing room only during CSNA 2019, and has been updated for 2020 to include the new realities of an AR during COVID-19. They have built a wide variety of reliable resources for streamlining preparation and reducing stress during an AR year. They will walk you through what to expect during the remote Administrative Review from the Off-site Assessment, the virtual Cafeteria Visit, the Menu Review process in light of the meal pattern waiver. Together they will discuss common audit findings and how to avoid these mistakes during your next review. A question and answer session will be held at the end and printable checklists will be provided.
