Objectives: Participants will learn the basic requirements and tips from a seasoned director on how to maximize your direct certification for optimum qualification.
Description: Direct certification is required for all school districts in the state of California. Managing it correctly will ensure maximum funding for your school district. Learn the basic rules and what you can do to maximize student qualification.

Speaker Bio:
Stephanie Bruce is the Director of Nutrition Services for the Palm Springs Unified School District in Palm Springs, CA. Stephanie has worked in the foodservice industry for over 30 years and in Child Nutrition for 20 years. She has been with the Palm Springs Unified School District for the past 6 years. She holds a Culinary Arts Degree from College of the Desert in Palm Desert, CA; a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management from California Polytechnic College in Pomona, CA and an M.B.A in Finance from the University of Redlands. Stephanie currently sits as the West Region Leadership Committee representative for the School Nutrition Association (SNA) and is an Instructor for both the CASBO, CBO certification program and the USC Rossier School of Business. Stephanie also participated in SNA's Ethics task force in June 2017. She has served in several positions for professional organizations and is a past President of the California School Nutrition Association
