Objectives: Participants will become familiar with:
- NSLP requirements for fruits and vegetable offerings
- Serving ideas for tray lines to maximize visual appeal of fruit and vegetable offerings
- Playful "challenges" that encourage kids to try new fruits and veggies
- "Reward-systems" that don't involve food
Description: This session will focus on ways to encourage fruit and vegetable consumption among school children from the trayline to the classroom and out into school gardens.

Jamie Kubota - San Jose State University
Speaker Bio:
A classically trained pastry chef, Jamie Kubota balanced her love for pastries with healthy cooking. She went on to earn a Master's of Science in Nutrition and the RD credential and is now an Assistant Professor of Food Management at San Jose State University where her research interests include culinary medicine and hands-on nutrition education programming.
