Objectives: Objective 1
Apply makeover strategies to your school(s) based on your budget. Find low cost of free signage, equipment and other marketing products through grants, reward points and your colleagues.
Objective 2
Formulate a plan to brand your program that keeps the community, district and students you serve front and center.
Objective 3
Adapt existing materials and equipment to update the look of your cafeteria(s) when budgets are tight.


Description: See what you can do in your own schools(s) to make a big impact without spending a bundle on a cafeteria makeover. Are you thinking of branding your program or school? Learn from the field what has worked and what has flopped! This fast-paced session will provide you with examples of cafeteria makeovers and provide you with solid information as to how to go about procuring design services, signage, and materials to make your cafeteria look smashing.

Speaker Bio:
Jean has been a leader in School Food for many years. In addition to serving as President of the School Nutrition Association (SNA), she led the efforts in Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS), MN to transform their program to one that received national recognition for building effective financial systems; designing innovative marketing strategies; and creating healthy menus that honored the diverse student body and drove high participation.

In addition to serving as Nutrition Services Director for SPPS, Jean served as Chief Operations Officer. In that role, had responsibility for Technology Services, Facilities, Safety & Security, Custodial, Transportation and Nutrition Services. This role provided her with valuable insights into K-12 and have her uniquely qualified to support school districts in her role as Senior Consultant for ProTeam Foodservice Advisors.
