Objectives: Participants will be able to communicate offer versus serve requirements to children and teachers in a manner that is easily understandable.
Description: Summary: Do you find Offer vs. Serve to be a challenge at your schools? Learn how you can empower students to make healthy choices, select reimbursable meals, and be cognitive of food waste. This fun and educational tool teaches students lifelong healthy eating habits and encourages them to make a difference in their communities by reducing food waste.

Speakers Bio: Dawn Soto is a Senior Cafeteria Training Specialist with the Los Angeles Unified School District and has been an active team member for 23 years. Prior to her present position, she has been a Cafeteria Training Specialist with LAUSD. She has developed training curriculum and provided training for Area Food Services Supervisors, foodservice managers, cafeteria staff, students, and parents on all subjects pertaining to State and Federal guidelines, professional development, school food programs, food service operations, nutrition education and courses that align with Professional Standards requirements.
