Objectives: Attendees will take part in two experiential workshops adapted from our suite of professional development and classroom lessons. These workshops will guide attendees through two sample professional development sessions focused on preparing and marketing fresh, scratch-cooked school meals to students. After the session, attendees will be able to more effectively facilitate professional development activities for nutrition services professionals to support production of, and communication about freshly-prepared school meals.
Description: California Thursdays is a collaboration between the Center for Ecoliteracy and a network of 90 school districts to serve healthy, freshly-prepared school meals made from California-grown food. This session will introduce participants to two hands-on professional development resources used with nutrition services staff in the California Thursdays Network.
