Objectives: By the end of the workshop, participants will understand the nutritional benefits and versatility of Greek Yogurt as an ingredient. Cheryl Buckley, Director of Nutrition Services at Chobani, will kick-off the session with an introduction into the world of Greek Yogurt, explaining the differences between authentic strained Greek Yogurt and "Greek-style" yogurts that are currently on the market.
Description: Greek Yogurt now comprises nearly half of the yogurt aisle, and you may even have it stocked in your home refrigerator. But what is Greek Yogurt? And does it make sense as a K-12 menu offering? In this educational session, Cheryl Buckley, Director of Nutrition Services at Chobani, will introduce participants to the increasingly complex world of Greek Yogurt and differentiate between nutritious, authentic strained options and other "Greek-style" yogurts currently on the market. Patricia Bannan, a renowned registered dietitian, will also demonstrate how this protein-packed ingredient can easily elevate school menus, showing participants simple techniques for incorporating Greek Yogurt into recipes to improve the nutritional panel, while also maintaining great flavor students will love.

Cheryl Buckley, MS, RD, CDN, is Chobani's Director of Nutrition and Foodservice Segments. In this role, Cheryl educates the K-12, Healthcare, and Extended Care segments on the nutrition profiles of authentic strained Chobani Greek Yogurt. Having worked previously as a Foodservice Director for a New York school district, Cheryl understands the segment's unique needs and has made it her professional and personal mission to implement healthier choices into school district menus across the country.
