Description: This session will delve into the nitty-gritty of the new food labeling requirements and introduce menu-labeling for chain restaurants. The session will address: What are the new nutrients on the label? Why were they chosen? How are they measured? and more.

Speaker Bio:
Mary Ellen Taylor has been employed by the Food and Drug Administration as a Health Communications Specialist for twenty years. Prior to FDA, Mary Ellen served as a Health and Nutrition volunteer in the Peace Corps in Guatemala. She received a Masters of Science Degree in Public Health from Tulane University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona. Mary Ellen is a current member of the Western Association of Food and Drug Officials and the California Public Health Association and a past member of the Association of Food and Drug Officials Editorial Board and the Health Fraud Task Force of California.
