Description: Hear from a panel of school food authorities and program partners about best practices for growing your Summer Meal Programs. Learn about how you can improve the effectiveness of your outreach and serve more meals in the summer months. Topics will include developing a Summer Meals Collaborative, hosting a successful Summer Meals Kick-Off Event, and engaging local public officials.

Gurjeet Barayah is the manager of the SMU. The SMU is responsible for the administration of the USDA?s Summer Food Service Program and Seamless Summer Option. Panelists will include program operators and community partners who have successfully worked together to form the Sacramento Summer Meals Collaborative.
