Objectives: 1. Participants will understand terminology associated with antibiotic-free poultry. 2. Participants will be able to differ between the following marketing jargon and poultry farmer practices: No Antibiotics Ever (NAE); Certified Responsible Antibiotic Use (CRAU); and Never Ever 3 - no antibiotics, no growth promotants, no animal byproducts (NE3). 3. Participants will know which practices are used at four major companies providing chicken to schools
Description: If your parents are asking for antibiotic-free poultry or you are thinking of menuing chicken and turkey in this fashion, come and learn the terms NE3, NAE, and CRAU, to help you make informed decisions with purchasing, in regards to pricing and sustainability. Listen to our panel of experts in regards to poultry farming practices. Decide what is important for you and the students in your district.

Michelle Reitzin-Bass - Somma Foods
Speaker Bio:
Michelle has served as the SCSNA Industry Advisor and has been a member of CSNA, SNA and ACDA over her tenure in the child nutrition field. She is an experienced director of sales and marketing, since 1985. She currently is the Director of Sales West for Somma Foods. She excels at promoting the healthy school foods, supporting the efforts of the child nutrition professionals.
Kathleen Romley - Foster Farms
Speaker Bio:
Kathleen began her poultry experience with Tyson Foods where she managed the Western Region for the K12 segment as well as commercial. She then moved on to Pilgrims Pride also as the Western Region Sales Manager. Currently Kathleen is a Western Regional Manager for Foster Farms, where she manages a direct sales force in Southern California, as well as brokers in AZ and Nevada. With over 20 years of poultry experience, she is dedicated and passionate about K12 nutrition.
Niki Mann - Tyson
Speaker Bio:
Niki Mann, is currently the Research & Development Senior Manager for the K-12 and Field Chain businesses at Tyson Foods, Inc. She is responsible for managing a team of Food Scientists and Technicians that develop new products and maintain existing products for the K-12 School Business as well as restaurant chain accounts. Niki has worked at Tyson Foods, Inc. for 12 years.
Prior to working at Tyson, Niki earned a bachelor of science degree in poultry science and one in dietetics from the University of Arkansas. She continued at the University of Arkansas and obtained her master?s degree in poultry science followed by a dietetic internship at Tulane University. Niki is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Culinary Scientist, and School Nutrition Specialist.
