Description: Join this convening of Smarter Lunchrooms Movement (SLM )innovators who have already completed the foundational SLM of CA Principles and Practices training and want to take it to the next level. The SLM of California has developed a Cornell-approved Technical Advising Professional (TAP) certification program that ensures you will be fully qualified to implement SLM in your schools. In this two part session, you will participate in a virtual cafeteria site visit, walk through resources for front line staff professional development, and gain the skills and confidence to rollout SLM throughout your district. As a certified TAPs you will gain privileged access to our SLM of CA resources and educational events and connect with this growing community. Must attend Part A and B to complete certification requirement.
Prerequisite: Prior attendance of one SLM Principal and Practices 101- 6 hour training.

Speaker Bio:
Heather Reed is a Nutrition Education Consultant with the California Department of Education. She co-chairs the California Local School Wellness Policy and Smarter Lunchrooms Movement of California Collaborative. A Registered Dietitian, she earned a MA from San Francisco State University and a BS from University of Delaware.
Leslie Pring - Dairy Council of California
Speaker Bio:
Leslie Pring is a passionate advocate for school-based nutrition education and balanced eating from all five food groups. With seven years as a Community Nutrition Adviser with Dairy Council of California. As a Community Nutrition Adviser she is responsible for advocating for nutrition education through building and maintaining relationships within the school and community health environment with educator leaders, community health partners, parents and school foodservice professionals. Also, serving as a Technical Advising Professional for the Smarter Lunchroom Movement of California, Leslie has provide training and technical advising on the Smarter Lunchrooms Movement theory and practices for schools throughout Northern California. Leslie holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences from CSU Chico.
