Objectives: Participants will gain the tools and resources necessary to plan, implement, and deploy a successful school-wide education event.
Description: Have you wanted to put on a student event that got students engaged and excited about nutrition and wellness? This session will give you the "how to" steps of putting on your own event. This event will put food service staff at the forefront of the day by taking over the entire educational day. Learn how to partner with vendors and manufacturers for food sampling: work with community partners and district resources for education sessions; get creative with your food service staff involvement, and so much more!

Amber Watson - Marysville Joint Unified School District
Speaker Bio:
Amber Watson graduated from San Jose State Univ. in 2004 with a BS in Nutrition and Food Science and started her school nutrition career as a Dietetic Intern at Alum Rock Union School District in San Jose and in 8 years, she worked her way up to the Assistant Director of Child Nutrition Services. Her current position is Director of Nutrition Services at Marysville Joint Unified School District, which she has held for 3 years. She earned her SNS credential in 2011 and RD credential in 2005. Her personal interests include cooking/baking, crafting, and raising a farm with her husband.
Tina Bond - Marysville Joint Unified School District
Speaker Bio:
Tina Bond has worked for Marysville Joint Unified School District for 18 years. She is currently the Site Manager for Lindhurst High School, preparing over 1300 meals daily. Her personal interests including spending time with her grand kids and taking cruises with her husband.
Jeri Echols - Marysville Joint Unified School District
Speaker Bio:
Jeri Echols has worked for Marysville Joint Unified School District for 18 years. She is currently the Site Manager for Marysville High School, preparing 1000 meals daily. Her personal interests include spending time with her family, gardening, and canning.
