Objectives: Participants should be able to go back to their school sites with the knowledge of how to create a Student Connect Group. What students, teachers, and classes they can work with. And, how to use the information that they get from the Student Connect Group to better the Student Nutrition Program.
Description: Do you want to bridge the gap between your students and the student nutrition program? Come to this session to learn how to successfully work with your students and staff on issues such as Federal and State Guidelines, the menu planning process, and get their ideas on how to improve your program. Do this and you can increase your participation and the overall sense of pride in your School and your School Lunch Program.

Karen Leyno - Yuba City Unified School District
Speaker Bio:
Karen Leyno has been in food service for 14 years. Having background in both military and school food service. She is the manager of Yuba City High School. A school that has 1,800 students and an open campus at lunch.
Steve Bell - Yuba City Unified School District
Speaker Bio:
Steve Bell has over 20 years experience. Starting in the military and now in school food service. He is the manager of River Valley High School. A school with 1,700 students.
Marilyn LaFountaine - Yuba City Unified School District
Speaker Bio:
Marilyn LaFounaine has been in food service for 15 years, spending the last 14 years in school food service. Marilyn is the manager of Andros Karperos a K-8 school with 1400 students.
