Andrea Gamble
Speaker Bio:
Andrea graduated from the Utah Valley University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in education. She also earned her Master of Science and Technology with an emphasis in Environmental Health from the University of Utah.
Currently, she is a Licensed Environmental Health Scientist for Salt Lake County Health Department and has worked in the Food Protection Bureau for more than 12 years. For most of these years she worked as a field inspector and as the Temporary Events and Mass Gathering Coordinator. She has literally conducted thousands of inspections of numerous types of restaurants, food markets, events, and more; she has also educated hundreds of food facility owners, managers and employees on food sanitation and food safety, as well as how to prevent foodborne illness hazards.
Public health has always been a passion for Andrea and she truly enjoys what she does.
In her past life, Andrea was a Pastry Chef for 14 years; she jokes that she turned to the dark side now that she is a regulator. She also worked on the Medical Surgical Unit at American Fork Hospital for two years; she has worn a lot of different hats throughout her career. Her experiences combine her love of food and health and she enjoys sharing this knowledge.
